Detroit stand up! Both Eminem and Kid Rock will appear on Yelawolf’s forthcoming debut LP, Radioactive.
The multi-platinum selling superstars are among the eclectic line-up that Yelawolf enlisted for his first studio album. On the more crunk side, the Alabama native collaborated with New Orleans favorite Mystikal and former Three 6 Mafia-affiliated femcee Gangsta Boo, as well as the genre’s ambassador, Lil Jon, who appears on the 2011 XXL Freshman’s lead off single, “Hard White (Up in the Club).”
On the production side, Yela recruited longtime associate Willpower, The Audibles and “Look At Me Now” hitmaker, Diplo.
“I want people to appreciate my take on what an album is supposed to be,” Wolf told XXL. “And, also to understand, up until this point, that I’ve only had the opportunity to do a mixtape run, and that this album, sonically and content wise, speaks more volumes about my inspirations.”
Radioactive is set to impact stores on November 21. In the meantime, the Shady Records signee is featured in XXL’s November 2011 issue, where he speaks in further detail about his LP, signing with Eminem, and his struggle to break into the music industry. The magazine, which also celebrates Nas’s 20 years in hip-hop with a candid interview with the rap vet conducted by Odd Future leader, Tyler, the Creator, hits newsstands nationwide on October 25. —Elan Mancini with reporting by Mariel Concepcion
