Eminem sells out Sydney show in 30 minutes
Eminem’s first Sydney show since 2001 sold out in less than half an hour this afternoon, hot on the heels of his Melbourne show doing likewise this morning, according to promoters Dainty Group.
For his Sydney and Melbourne shows, Eminem’s special guests are US rapper Li’l Wayne and multi ARIA Award winning Australian hip hop players Hilltop Hoods.
“I haven’t seen such excitement and anticipation for a concert, for EMINEM to sell out a 60,000 seat stadium in Melbourne and 50,000 seats in Sydney under 30 minutes is just extraordinary” said Paul Dainty, Chairman of Dainty Group.
eBay scalpers already have a selection of tickets up for between $200 and $540. (The $540 option generously comes with “free postage”, penny-pinchers.)
There’s no official footage from Eminem’s recent stadium-sized returns to the live arena — at Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival and the V Festival in Ireland — but to give you an idea of how the show might pitch to the cheap seats, here’s a blurry phone camera clip of a couple of highlights from the latter:
